Chinese and Taiwanese Cooking Classes

As well as cooking professionally in one of the top restaurants in Edinburgh I can also offer cooking classes at home. Whether you want to learn how to make a simple chow mein or even fancy trying sushi, I can provide a fully customized class to suit you.

Prices for classes vary largely based on what you want to learn how to cook and whether you would like me to supply the ingredients or not. For example, in previous classes I have gone to the Chinese supermarket with clients, explained everything they needed and then gone to their home and taught them how to make a dish. However, this is more expensive.

All classes will ideally take place in my home, due to the familiarity of using my own oven, knives, utensils, etc.

In terms of availability, the best thing to do is contact me. With my job I always have a three day on / three day off rotor but as I said please feel free to contact me if you would like.

An explanation of the different classes. If I supply the ingredients this means I will supply everything you need as well as doing a part of the preparation with you. You supply the ingredients is where you pay for the ingredients and just pay me for the class. We go shopping is where we do absolutely everything together, including buying ingredients and all the preparation together. Naturally at the end of any of the classes you take everything you cooked home with you.

Also, as a free option, some people like to have their photos taken during class. My husband is a professional photographer and some people like this but there’s no obligation to have your photo taken.

Below are the three different levels of classes I offer. Each level is more expensive due to the complexity of each dish. Chow Mein as an example can be cooked relatively quickly but Roast Duck Beijing style requires me to cook a duck hours before the lesson. Sushi equally takes a good couple of hours to learn properly.
